SHIPPING / LOGISTICS LEAD

Purpose of the Role
The Shipping + Logistics Lead is responsible for coordinating and supporting all shipping activities, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of equipment, parts, and materials. This role also involves facilitating the movement of materials and supplies throughout the manufacturing workspace to support production schedules and order fulfillment.

 

Responsibilities:

• Package and prepare all shipments in and out of Elnik Systems headquarters.

• Ensure proper documentation for all domestic and international shipments.

• Maintain accurate shipping documentation, including HTS (Tariff) codes, material composition records, and inventory part photos.

• Utilize shipping platforms (UPS/FEDEX/DHL) and coordinate with LTL and dedicated shipping partners.

• Develop and implement shipping protocols and best practices to ensure items, parts, and equipment are delivered safely and on time.

• Verify packaged items meet customer orders and requirements.

• Fabricate wooden crates for shipping heavy, sensitive, and high-value equipment and parts.

• Use the ERP system (Global Shop) to track, report, and manage part shipment needs.

• Oversee shipping and receiving activities, including scheduling, planning, and execution.

• Proactively identify opportunities to improve material handling and shipping efficiencies.

• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, high-volume, and time-sensitive environment.

 

Qualifications:

• 5-10 years of experience in shipping and logistics.

• 3-5 years of experience in a manufacturing environment.

• 3-5 years of experience in international shipping and logistics.

• Experience with Global Shop ERP system preferred.

• Knowledge of domestic and international shipping requirements.

• Experience with woodworking, including cutting plywood and other structural materials.

• Intermediate Excel skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask effectively.

• Self-motivated and capable of collaborating with others.

 

Physical Demands:

• Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, sit, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, and crawl.

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.

• Requires vision capabilities such as close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

• Combination of office and manufacturing environments, with noise levels ranging from quiet to moderate depending on activities.
