​We are seeking a skilled Machinist to join our team and help produce or repair precision parts using both manual and automated equipment. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, a solid understanding of mechanical systems, and a commitment to maintaining safety and quality standards.

Purpose of the Role
The Machinist will operate a variety of machines to perform assigned tasks, ensuring the production of high-quality precision parts. This role involves using both manual and automated tools, interpreting blueprints, and taking accurate measurements to meet job specifications.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Review samples, drawings, or instructions to understand the specifications for each job.

  • Plan the sequence of necessary actions to complete jobs efficiently and accurately.

  • Measure and mark materials for cutting, ensuring accuracy and consistency.

  • Select and set up appropriate machines (e.g., lathes, milling machines) for each job, positioning and loading materials as needed.

  • Program machine settings such as batch size, speed, and temperature for optimal performance.

  • Monitor machines while working, adjusting feeds, temperatures, and other settings as necessary to maintain quality output.

  • Inspect finished products to ensure consistency with specifications, discarding defective units as needed.

  • Maintain accurate records of approved and defective units or final products.

  • Perform routine maintenance on machines and repair minor damages to keep equipment in good working condition.

 

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a machinist.

  • Experience using and/or programming manual, semi-automated, or automated machines (e.g., lathes, milling machines).

  • Strong ability to use precision tools (e.g., calipers) for accurate measurements.

  • Knowledge of the properties of metals and other materials used in machining.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and manuals.

  • Strong math skills with analytical abilities.

  • Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and components.

  • High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or completion of an apprenticeship is a plus.
