We are seeking an Industrial Design Engineer to join our Engineering team. This role involves developing new products and enhancing existing ones, working closely with customers, suppliers, and various departments to deliver cost-effective solutions that are safe and effective.

Purpose of the Role
The Industrial Design Engineer is responsible for developing new products for Elnik Systems and supporting upgrades and updates to existing equipment. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across departments to solve design and manufacturing challenges while ensuring all solutions meet company, industry, and customer needs.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Design new products and upgrade existing equipment to meet customer and industry standards.

  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure designs fulfill company and customer requirements.

  • Use 3D CAD software (preferably SolidWorks) to create, modify, and maintain equipment design ideas.

  • Create physical prototypes to test design concepts.

  • Analyze materials and manufacturing requirements to estimate production costs.

  • Evaluate designs for safety, functionality, and practicality.

  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and all relevant certifications.

  • Maintain engineering documentation and drawing standards per company requirements.

  • Identify and execute opportunities for design or process improvements.

  • Contribute innovative ideas to reduce material, component, and labor costs.

  • Participate in hazard risk assessments and FMEA processes.

  • Maintain professional knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing publications, and participating in professional networks.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.

  • 5-10 years of experience in machine design engineering and machine manufacturing.

  • Experience with industrial equipment design and fabrication (high-temperature furnace design preferred).

  • Proficiency in SolidWorks and AutoCAD is required.

  • Experience with systems engineering design methodologies and mechanical/fluid simulations is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Organized, able to multitask, and capable of managing projects and processes effectively.

  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and Windows.

 

Travel Requirements:

  • Occasional travel for training, industry-related events, or customer support activities may be required.

 

Physical Demands:

  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Regularly required to talk, hear, use hands for handling objects and tools, and occasionally stand, walk, and crouch.

 

Work Environment:

  • Office and manufacturing environments with noise levels ranging from quiet to moderate.
