​We are seeking an experienced Vertical Turret Lathe Operator to join our Manufacturing team. This role involves the setup, operation, and inspection of parts on a vertical turret lathe to produce complex OEM equipment.

Purpose of the Role
The Vertical Turret Lathe Operator plays a key role in machining components by setting up fixtures, changing cutting tools, and ensuring that all parts are machined accurately to specifications. The ideal candidate will excel at reading blueprints, setup sheets, and work instructions, as well as inspecting their own work to meet quality standards.
Responsibilities:

Operate and maintain vertical turret lathe equipment with a strong understanding of turning operations.

Read and follow instructions, manuals, setup sheets, and technical drawings to produce precise components.

Inspect machined parts for quality and accuracy using micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.

Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.

Adhere to all shop safety protocols and maintain a clean and safe working area.

Collaborate with team members in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Perform additional manufacturing or shop activities as requested.
Qualifications:
-
High school diploma or GED required; technical school education is a plus.

5-10 years of experience in machining, with proven expertise as a machinist.

Strong technical knowledge and ability to read and interpret drawings.

Proficiency in using manual and power tools.

Experience with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring equipment.

Ability to perform precise calculations involving fractions and decimals.

Excellent hand-eye coordination and attention to detail.
Physical Demands:

Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk, reach, and use hands to handle tools and objects.

Occasionally required to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
