Senior Electrical Engineer

At Elnik Systems, a family-owned leader in high-precision industrial processing equipment, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the development of robust electrical hardware systems for our advanced debind and sintering equipment. If you’re passionate about precision, thrive on solving complex real-world challenges, and want to be part of a close-knit engineering team, this is your opportunity to make an impact on the future of manufacturing technology.

Job Details & Requirements

Own the end-to-end electrical hardware design of industrial equipment, including power distribution (AC 120V-600V and DC 24V-60V), wiring, enclosures, and component selection. Use EPLAN to develop schematics, cable routing, and layouts that meet NEC, UL, and CE requirements. (UL508-A, NFPA 70, NFPA 79, NFPA 86, ISO 13849)

Document and manage all supporting materials: BOMs, terminal layouts, grounding plans, and vendor specifications assuring quality handoff to electricians and compliance with risk assessments and safety standards.

Work closely with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to integrate electrical systems into practical, serviceable machines, and support builds with shop-floor and checkout testing, troubleshooting, and problem resolution.

Specify and validate electrical components (motors, relays, breakers, power cables, etc.) for reliability in demanding environments, while continually improving documentation and engineering processes.

Collaborate with the automation engineer to support integration, ensuring hardware designs align with control architecture and process needs.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

A Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering and 7–12 years of experience in industrial hardware design, with a deep understanding of power circuits, panel layout, and regulatory compliance. Experience with power circuits for high temperature controlled systems, furnaces, or vacuum systems a plus. (Transformers, Heaters, SCRs, etc.)

Strong working knowledge of EPLAN for schematic and layout development; Applied understanding of NFPA (NEC), UL, and CE codes; and experience enforcing electrical design standards and certifying systems to standards.

Proven skill in specifying and integrating industrial hardware including transformers, motors, relays, and electrical protection components in machine systems.

A commitment to design compliance and thoroughness that leaves no stone un-turned. Close enough is never close enough at Elnik.

A hands-on, systems-level mindset, with strong communication skills, a passion for real-world problem-solving, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced, engineering environment.
